The Inspiration Behind The Episode
MINERAL SPRINGS HOTEL
I met Lauren and Gina of The Witches Familiar Paranormal Research team through a casual conversation on BlueSky. Once I learned that they were from my home city of St. Louis, I was especially curious about their explorations and investigations. The Mineral Springs Hotel in Alton, Ill., was unfamiliar to me, but the city was not. I had family there when I was a child and would visit once or twice a year.
Today the city is growing, but it has kept its small town charm. I learned that within the hotel, which is now closed to the public, there is an oddities shop that has curated selections of haunted and mysterious items.
Not only is this a place I want to report on, it’s a place I want to visit. The next time I visit family in St. Louis, you can bet I’ll be stopping by and my hope is that Gina and Lauren can give me even more details about this historic and fascinating place.
