Take Care Of Your Money
A number of years ago I was listening to a lecture about how to have a more prosperous life and I received some advice that I’m confident has really served me well. I want to share that advice with you.
Keep the money in your wallet well organized. Have all the bills facing the same way, and put them in order. You should know how much money you are carrying at all times.
Dr. Kenndy Shultz explained that when he was at a cashier and they gave him back his change, he took the time to organize the bills. He made sure they were all facing the same way, added them to the existing bills, and made sure they were in order. He said that this might take a moment, and that someone might have to wait, but that this action was critically important to him being a prosperous person.
At that time I adopted this habit, and I’m sure it has served me well.
Why is this important? This action shows the universe that you are taking care of your money. It demonstrates an appreciation for the money that comes into your life, and that you will treat it well. The universe will continue to send you more money if you act like it is important and that you will use it well.
Would you give money to someone who treated it like it was not important? Would you loan money to someone who just kept it laying around, or did not give thought to how it was going to be used? I would not.
This same principle applies to planning how to save your money, spend it wisely, and invest with careful attention. It shows the universe that you are paying attention, that you recognize the importance of your resources, and that you have gratitude for it coming into your life. Treat your money this way and more will come your way.
I encourage you to adopt this habit. Pull out your wallet, organize the bills, and become aware of how much is there. And the next time you go to an ATM and it spits out the wad of 20’s, you’ll see that they are facing all different directions. Take that moment to organize them, put them in order and all facing the same direction, and then add them to your wallet with care and attention. More money will flow to you because you are showing your appreciation and your intention to use it wisely.
